Under the guidance of the Commander of the Army and the coordination of the Governor of the North Western Province, troops of the Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) conducted a cleaning programme at Kurunegala Railway Station on 28th January 2025. The initiative, carried out under the “Clean Sri Lanka” programme, was supervised by the Commander of the Security Force (East), Colonel of the Regiment SLNG, and the Centre Commandant of SLNG.


At the request of the Director of the Department of Engineering Services (Central Province), Major General K.A.U Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11 Infantry Division conducted a lecture on Leadership, Positive Thinking, and Personality Development at the Department of Engineering Services (Central Province) premises on 28th January 2025.


In line with the Commander of the Army’s vision to promote reconciliation between civil society and the Sri Lanka Army, and under the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces (East), and the supervision of General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division, troops of the 16th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard commenced a house construction project for a low-income family in Aranthalawa.


Under the guidance of Major P.K Waruwangodaghe RWP RSP USP Lsc, Commanding Officer of the 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, the troops of 4 SLLI of 641 Infantry Brigade under 11 Infantry Division, conducted a donation programme for low-income families on 21st January 2025 at Dambulla Kiralagolla Primary School.


In response to a request from the Disaster Management Centre in Monaragala, troops of the 18th Battalion Gemunu Watch (18 GW), together with farmers from Karagahawela Village, successfully prevented the erosion of the Alawaththa Kumbura Tank bund in Bibila on 26th January 2025.


Under the guidance of the Commander of the Army and the instructions of Major General P.R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, Commander, Security Forces (East), and the supervision of the Commanding Officer of the 7th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch (7 GW), a cleaning programme was conducted on 25th January 2025 at Nawalladi to Rideetenna A11 (Batticaloa to Polonnaruwa) road as part of the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign.


Troops of the 9 (V) Engineer Services Regiment (9 ESR), under the instructions and approval of the Ministry of Defence and the guidance of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, successfully completed the construction of the Rural Hospital at Pansiyagama, Melsiripura, in the Kurunegala District.
