Troops of the 1st Battalion the Gemunu Watch (1 GW), participating in the ‘Clean Sri Lanka Project’ at Saranya Tamil School in Kandegedara, successfully rescued a civilian buried under a landslide near a house close to the school on 03rd March 2025.
Under the supervision of Major E.A Edirisinghe RWP RSP psc, Commanding Officer of the 23rd Battalion of the Gemunu Watch (23 GW), troops of 23 GW distributed 40 mattresses and 40 coconut plants to needy families in Kilinochchi. The initiative was made possible through a generous financial contribution by Mr. Sumedha Moligamuwa from Mawanella.
In line with the Clean Sri Lanka Initiative and under the guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), troops of the Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna), conducted a coastal and road-cleaning campaign on 01 March 2025.
Under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (East), the troops of the 8th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard conducted a cleaning programme at St. Anthony’s Church in Higurana on 26 February 2025.
Under the guidance of Commander of the 541 Infantry Brigade, troops of 10 (V) Gamunu Watch, conducted a cleaning programme with civilians, at Thirukeswaram Kovil, Manthei, on 24 February 2025.
23 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops organized a blood donation program at Pallai Hospital on 23 February 2025 under the guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna and General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division and supervision of Commander of 522 Infantry Brigade.
Under the guidance of the Commander of the Army, in line with the "Clean Sri Lanka" Programme, the District Secretariat of Kilinochchi spearheaded the "A Beautiful Coastal Line and Attractive Tourism Destination" Beach Cleanup Project at Poonaryn and Elephant Pass on 23 February 2025.
In line with the Clean Sri Lanka initiative, civilians in the Mannar district conducted a beach cleaning programme across 24 coastal areas on 23 February 2025.
In line with the Clean Sri Lanka initiative under the guidance of the Commander of the Army and instructions of Major General U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander, Security Forces (West), troops of the 57 Infantry Division, participated in the inauguration of infrastructure upgrades and a cleaning program at Ruwangiri Central College in Narammala on 20 February 2025. This event was carried out under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division.
