In remembrance of fallen war heroes, the troops of 5th Battalion, Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), conducted a blood donation programme in collaboration with the Blood Bank of the Anuradhapura on 17 June 2025 at Thanthirimale temple premises under the leadership of Commanding Officer of 5 SLNG.


In remembrance of fallen war heroes, the troops of the 141 Infantry Brigade, along with its under command battalions, conducted a blood donation programme in collaboration with the Blood Bank of the Ragama Teaching Hospital on 17 June 2025 at the Brigade premises.


In line with the Clean Sri Lanka initiative, the troops of the 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and the 14 (V) Battalion Gemunu Watch (GW) renovated Sammugrathnam Tamil School and Olumadu Tamil School in Mullaitivu. Additionally, an reverse osmosis plant was constructed and vested in the school authorities on 16 June 2025, under the direction of Major General D.R.N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of 59 Infantry Division.


Following the capsizing of the vessel MSC ELSA 3 in Indian territorial waters and upon the request of the Maritime Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), a shoreline survey and cleaning programme in the affected areas were conducted by the troops of the 4th Battalion, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (4 VIR) along the Mannar coastal belt.


In response to a request from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura to the Disaster Management Centre and under the guidance of Commander of the Army, the 14 Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Response Regiment deployed a specialized response team, to address a suspected chemical leak at the university's microbiological laboratory with the technical support of the National Authority for the Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) and cooperated with Colombo Fire Brigade on 16th June 2025.


Under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces - Wanni, Major General K.M.P.S.B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc, and on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division, troops of the 211 Infantry Brigade, 9 Gajaba Regiment and 5(V) Gajaba Regiment, voluntarily donated blood during a campaign held at Padaviya Hospital on 07 June 2025. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Red Cross Society of Royal College, Colombo, as part of their 46th Annual Blood Donation Campaign.
