As per the request made by the Past Pupils’ Association of the Blind School, Ratmalana, under the guidance of the Ministry of Defence and the instructions of the Commander of the Army, the Sri Lanka Army provided transport, accommodation facilities and food for the members of the Blind School during their special visit to the Jaffna area from 26 to 28 September 2025.


Army troops donated around 470 reading books to the library of Kosgulana Primary School on 23 September 2025. The programme was conducted with the aim of enhancing the reading attitude of children while supporting the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative through education.


The troops of the 15 Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) conducted a blood donation campaign, with the support of Trincomalee District General Hospital, at Agrabodhi Temple in Mollipathana on 04 September 2025.


The troops of the 122 Infantry Brigade, 12 Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, and 3 Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard voluntarily donated blood during a campaign held at DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna Resort on 11 September 2025.


In line with the vision of the Commander of the Army, the Sri Lanka Army launched a far-reaching humanitarian initiative to uplift rural communities in the Wanni region on 5 September 2025. The programme, supervised by the Judge Advocate General, Brigadier R.D.O. Pathiranage and his family, extended vital support to the villagers of Uyilankulam and Thenniyankulam.


To provide safe drinking water to villagers severely affected by kidney disease, the ‘Randiya’ water purification project commenced on 30 May 2025 with the construction of a Reverse Osmosis plant. The newly installed plant was officially inaugurated on 26 August 2025 at Kohomban Kulama village.
