The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Gajaba Regiment (GR) Veterans' Association got underway on Sunday (26) at Battaramulla ‘Ape Gama’ premises with the participation of a gathering of former 'Keterians' who made the Regiment proud and admiring.
A representative gathering of about 100 coordinators of Ranaviru Organizations of 22 administrative Districts, including responsible SFHQ Officers and Civil Affairs Officers in respective areas this morning (18) arrived at the Army HQ at the request of the Directorate of Veterans' Affairs and listened to General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence staff Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak where he urged them to maintain their respected social recognition and contribute to the betterment of the national economy and the Army as well without falling victim to various elements with vested interests.
‘Remembrance Day’ and Poppy ceremony, staged every year by the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association (SLESA), got underway at Viharamaha Devi Park, Colombo 7 this morning (11).

The 25th death anniversary of Late Major General Vijaya Wimalarathne, one of the finest war veterans ever produced by the Gajaba Regiment (GR) of the Sri Lanka Army in contemporary times was held on Sunday (6) at the Gajaba Regiment Headquarters at Saliyapura, Anuradhapura.

The military funeral of Brigadier K.J.N Senaweera (Rtd) RSP USP Ldmc, who had served the country for more than 30 years, took place Wednesday (4) evening at Borella General Cemetery, amid a mammoth gathering of his military comrades and other mourners.
