In a noteworthy act of civic responsibility and humanitarian service, the 11 (V) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (11 (V) SLSR) organized a successful blood donation programme on 19 June 2025 in Batticaloa.
The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC psc, Commander, Security Forces (East), and was closely supervised by the General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division. Operating under the 243 Infantry Brigade, the 11 (V) SLSR carried out the programme as part of broader civil-military cooperation efforts, aimed at fostering stronger bonds between the Army and the local community in the Eastern Province.
The blood units collected during the drive are expected to significantly support the regional blood bank, helping meet the medical needs of patients in critical conditions.
