The troops of the 9th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (9 VIR) conducted a school items and library books donation programme for 46 students at Kanthale Gamini Primary School in Sirimangalapura on 24 June 2025, under the guidance of Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - East.
Colonel D.M.G.K.H De Silva psc, the Commander of 222 Infantry Brigade graced the event as the Chief Guest. Financial assistance for this initiative was provided by Mrs Bagya Veerasinghe and Mr Raguaran Jayachandran, residing in Australia.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, school staff, students and civilians participated in the event.
