14 GW Leads Shramadana Campaign Ahead of Annual Sivam Kovil Festival in Oddusudan

In line with the “Clean Sri Lanka” National initiative and under the direction of the 59 Infantry Division, the 14th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch (14 GW) conducted a successful Shramadana campaign on 21 June 2025. The effort was coordinated by the 592 Infantry Brigade and focused on cleaning the premises of the Sivam Kovil in Oddusudan, in preparation for its upcoming annual festival.

The campaign witnessed active participation from 14th Gemunu Watch Battalion troops, along with enthusiastic support from local villagers and members of the Kovil Development Committee. This collective effort aimed to ensure a clean, serene, and welcoming environment for the many devotees expected to attend the religious event - enhancing both its spiritual ambiance and community significance.

This programme reflects the Sri Lanka Army’s continued commitment to promoting community welfare and cultural harmony, while strengthening civil-military bonds across all sectors of society.
