Under the guidance of Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, and the close supervision of Brigadier B.A.P.M Balasooriya RSP, Commander of the 212 Infantry Brigade, the troops of the 4th Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard promptly reconstructed the bund of Mahanochchikulam Lake at Galkulama, which had sustained slight damage due to adverse weather conditions, using sandbags.


Two villagers in Ellewewa, Kebithigollawa, became stranded due to adverse weather conditions on 19th January 2025. Troops from the 5th (V) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment promptly carried out a rescue operation, ensuring their safety and providing immediate assistance.


Under the guidance of the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Anura Kumara Dissanayake the ongoing "Clean Sri Lanka" National Programme is being conducted across the country. In parallel, the government is set to launch a programme to purchase paddy from the upcoming Maha season harvest. Following the procurement, the government has also planned to utilise 209 paddy storage facilities owned by the Paddy Marketing Board.


The Pongal celebration in Jaffna - 2025 was graced by Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander of the Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna), who attended as the Chief Guest to the event on 14th January 2025, at CIMIC Park, 51 Infantry Division. The event, organized under the leadership of Major General M.P.N.A Muthumala USP psc, bringing military personnel and local communities together to celebrate this important cultural festival in a spirit of unity and harmony.


Under the guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), the troops of the 55 Infantry Division and 552 Infantry Brigade conducted a beach cleaning programme at Pallikudah Beach, Poonaryn on 13th January 2025. The initiative was part of the project titled "Revitalizing Beachfronts for Sustainability and Environment," in line with the government’s theme, Beautiful Island and Smiling People.


Under the guidance of Major General K.N.D Karunapala RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division, and the supervision of Major W.H Wickramasingha RSP USP psc Lsc, the Commanding Officer of the 16th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (16 SLSR), the troops of 16 SLSR repaired the Panainidankulam tank bund in the Marailuppai area on 16th January 2025, in collaboration with civilians and government authorities.


Under the guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna), and the supervision of Major General M.P.N.A Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, a book and school equipment donation programme was conducted for children from underprivileged families in Selvapuram and Yogapuram on 14th January 2025, at the CIMIC Park premises.


Under the guidance of Major General R.P.A.R.P Rajapaksha RSP, General Officer Commanding of the 54 Infantry Division, the inaugural ‘Ranaviru Abhinandana Pooja 2025’ was held on 10th January 2025 in Thalladi, Mannar. The initiative provided support to 250 children of Army personnel and civil employees by distributing books and school bags valued at Rs. 5,000.00 each.
