To provide safe drinking water to villagers severely affected by kidney disease, the ‘Randiya’ water purification project commenced on 30 May 2025 with the construction of a Reverse Osmosis plant. The newly installed plant was officially inaugurated on 26 August 2025 at Kohomban Kulama village.
In parallel with the “Clean Sri Lanka” programme, and in collaboration with the Wild Tuskers organisation, a large-scale environmental conservation programme was launched under the directions of the Commander of the Army to remove invasive plant species obstructing the lifestyle of elephants along the Kala Wewa tank bund in the 212 Infantry Brigade area.
As a solution to the acute drinking water shortage faced by the people of Matara, the Sri Lanka Army has undertaken the construction of a temporary salinity barrier adjacent to the existing Nilwala River barrier at Thudawa.
A newly built netball court at Kallaru Tamil College was declared open on 27 August 2025, enhancing sports and youth development in the area
The 2(V) Battalion the Gajaba Regiment constructed a new house for a needy family in Trincomalee under the supervision of 22 Infantry Division.
The troops of 51 Infantry Division, with the support of Pure Dale Ceylon Ltd and Richlife Dairy Ltd, distributed 51,000 cups of milk tea among devotees at the Kandaswami Kovila premises in Nallur from 20 to 22 August 2025.
Troops of Security Force Headquarters (Central) conducted a school items donation programme on 22 August 2025 at Bandarawela Sri Maliyadeya Vidyalaya to support children from low-income families.
As per the request made by the Director of Indi Foundation and under the instructions of the Commander of the Army, the Sri Lanka Army provided transport facilities for children of the Indi Foundation affected by cancer to attend a religious blessings event at Ruwanweli Seya and Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi premises on 23 August 2025.
A donation programme was organised by the troops of 58 Infantry Division on 07 August 2025 at Morapathawa School, Puttalam, to distribute books and school equipment to 51 children of Katupuliyan Primary School and Morapathawa School.
The Troops of 15 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) constructed a new house for a needy family at Earlalai (South) in Mylankadu on 08 August 2025, under the guidance of 51 Infantry Division and supervision of 511 Infantry Brigade.
