The troops of the 54 Infantry Division, together with the 4th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, conducted an awareness programme and distributed maternity aids to 162 pregnant mothers on 15 February 2026 at the Centre for Diocesan Laity Council Lecture Hall, Mannar.
Major General A.M.C. Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 54 Infantry Division, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The welfare initiative was generously sponsored by Nature's Secrets Pvt Ltd.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, the Senior Sales Manager for the Northern Province, the Regional Director of Health Services, along with medical staff and civilians, participated in the event.
