In line with the “Clean Sri Lanka” Programme, the troops of 54 Infantry Division, in collaboration with the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Office, Nanattan, conducted a Dental Clinic and a Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Clinic on 04 March 2026 at Madukkarai Government Tamil Mixed School, Mannar.
The medical clinic was conducted by Dr. S. Jude Ravi Pachchel, Medical Officer of Health, together with medical officers of the Mannar Regional Health Services Office.
During the programme, 220 students of Madukkarai Government Tamil Mixed School received dental awareness sessions and examinations. In addition, 16 teachers and 60 parents participated in the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Clinic, where medical examinations, including blood sugar and blood pressure checks, were conducted and those identified at risk were referred to hospital clinics for further treatment.
Major General A.M.C. Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of 54 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, the Principal, teachers, students and their parents participated in the event.
