As per the request made by the Director of Indi Foundation and under the instructions of the Commander of the Army, the Sri Lanka Army provided transport facilities for children of the Indi Foundation affected by cancer to attend a religious blessings event at Ruwanweli Seya and Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi premises on 23 August 2025.


Troops of the 9th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment constructed a new house for a needy family in Seruwila area. The housewarming ceremony was held on 18 August 2025, and the Commander Security Force (East), Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.


The 12th Battalion of the Gamunu Watch conducted a dry ration distribution programme for 80 needy families on 11 August 2025 at the Dalukana GN Office. The main sponsorship for the event was provided by Mrs Shiromi Masakorala, spouse of retired Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu.


The troops of the 18th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Air Force, swiftly responded to a bushfire that erupted in Halpe, Imbulpe, Balangoda area on 08 August 2025. An Air Force team was deployed to the location, providing aerial support with a helicopter to douse the affected area from the air. The operation was conducted under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division and the supervision of the Commander of 572 Infantry Brigade.


The 2025 Padavi Children’s Rally, organised by the Dharma Teaching and Bible Service Centre at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Anuradhapura, took place from 8 to 10 August 2025 with the participation of around 450 students from Grade 6 to 11 and 50 teachers from schools in the North Central Province.
