The troops of the 9th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (9 VIR) conducted a school items and library books donation programme for 46 students at Kanthale Gamini Primary School in Sirimangalapura on 24 June 2025, under the guidance of Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - East.


At the direction of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, Sri Lanka Army troops have extended their support to devotees undertaking the annual Paada Yaathra pilgrimage from Okada to Katharagama from 20 June 2025 to 04 July 2025. This initiative was carried out under the supervision of the Commander, Security Forces (Central) along with the leadership of the General Officer Commanding of 12 Infantry Division and Brigade Commander of 122 Infantry Brigade.


The 11 (V) Battalion of the Sinha Regiment conducted a dry ration and lunch packet donation programme on 23 June 2025 in Kokkadicholei with the aim of supporting pregnant mothers from low-income families in the area. The Commander, 243 Infantry Brigade, graced the event as the Chief Guest.


The troops of 51 Infantry Division, 512 Infantry Brigade and 14th Gajaba Regiment (GR), conducted a donation programme at Namashivay Vidyalaya in Jaffna on 19 June 2025 under the guidance of Major General M.P.N.A Muthumala USP psc, the General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division.


The 11 (V) Battalion of the Sinha Regiment, deployed under the 241 Infantry Brigade, conducted a school cleaning programme on 18 June 2025 under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana USAWC psc and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding the 24 Infantry Division.


In line with the “Clean Sri Lanka” National initiative and under the direction of the 59 Infantry Division, the 14th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch (14 GW) conducted a successful Shramadana campaign on 21 June 2025. The effort was coordinated by the 592 Infantry Brigade and focused on cleaning the premises of the Sivam Kovil in Oddusudan, in preparation for its upcoming annual festival.


In a proactive effort to mitigate the growing human–elephant conflict, the Security Forces (East), in collaboration with the 7th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery (7 SLA), 12th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch (12 GW), 3 (V) Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (3 (V) VIR), the Department of Wildlife Conservation and Mahaweli Authority officers, conducted a coordinated operation on 19 June 2025 to drive 26 wild elephants from Mivithapura to Nuwaragala.


In a significant community service, a blood donation programme was successfully conducted at Maradankeni Hospital on 15.06.2025. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, under the supervision of Major General M.N Fernando RSP, General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division and Colonel J.A.C Karunathilaka RSP USP, Commander, 522 Infantry Brigade.
