    In response to extensive flooding that damaged a road at Kottan Kulam, troops of the 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) swiftly undertook repair work under the guidance of Major General P.R. Pathiravithana USAWC psc, General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division and supervision of the Commander of the 522 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 1 MIR. Their timely intervention ensured the uninterrupted delivery of essential supplies to the flood affected population, mitigating the challenges faced by the community.

    Troops of 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment promptly responded to an emergency at the Palamkulam tank bund, which faced the risk of erosion due to severe weather conditions. Under the guidance of Major General B.G.S. Fernando USP Hdmc psc, General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, and the supervision of the Commander, 551 Infantry Brigade, the troops worked tirelessly amidst heavy rains to protect the bund by laying 300 sandbags, averting a potential disaster and safeguarding the surrounding community.
