Troops of 233 Infantry Brigade Aid Flood Victims

Troops of the 9 Sri Lanka Artillery, with the support of the Walikanda Police Station and Divisional Secretariat officials, successfully rescued three farmers who had been isolated and trapped by floods in Walikanda on 27 November 2024.

Simultaneously, troops of the 233 Infantry Brigade, along with staff from the Divisional Secretariat, Vakarai, visited inundated areas to provide medical assistance to those affected. Additionally, they rescued a pregnant woman from a flooded area and ensured her safe admission to the Vakarai Divisional Hospital.
