Troops of 21 Infantry Division Engage in Flood Relief Operations

In response to the emergency caused by the release of water from the Yan Oya reservoir in Parangiyawadiya, Horowpathana, due to adverse weather conditions, troops of the 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment carried out flood relief operations on 28 November 2024.

Under the direction of Major General J.P.C. Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander, Security Forces (Wanni), and with the guidance of Major General W.M.S.C.K. Wanasinghe RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of 21 Infantry Division, and the supervision of the Commander of the 211 Infantry Brigade, the troops assisted affected civilians by providing transportation across flooded areas using Uni-Buffel vehicles.
