    As per the concept of the Commander of the Army, the troops of the 5th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (5 VIR), under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of 5 VIR, constructed a new house for a needy family in Baragama, Ambalantota on 22 April 2025.

    16 SLNG Builds New House for a Needy Family

    A new house was constructed by the troops of 16th Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard (16 SLNG) for a deserving family in Aranthalawa, Mahaoya area with sponsorship provided by Mr. Chandrasiri Hettiarachchi, the President of Surakimu Pinbima Welfare Association on 28th April 2025 during a brief ceremony.

    Troops of the 3 SLNG rescued a mother and her son who were swept away by strong currents while bathing at the Weheragala river on 26 April 2025. The incident occurred due to the sudden rise in water levels following the opening of the spill gates of the Weheragala Reservoir.

    12 SLNG Conducts School Items Donation Programme

    The troops of the 12th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (12 SLNG) organised a school items donation programme on 21 April 2025 at BT/KK Periyawadduwan Kannagi Primary School. The event was conducted under the guidance of Commander, Security Forces (East) and during the programme, school item packs worth Rs. 4000.00 were donated to 25 children.

    In line with the Clean Sri Lanka Initiative and under the guidance of the Commander of the Army and in view of uplifting the wellbeing of citizens, troops of the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) constructed a house for a needy family, which was officially vested in the beneficiary by Major General J.K.R Jayakody RWP USP, General Officer Commanding of the 58 Infantry Division, on 02 April 2025.
