Acting on intelligence from the Military Intelligence Corps, the Special Task Force in Jaffna carried out a raid on 3 January in Phase 4 of Velanai, Jaffna. This operation uncovered the largest illegal stock of pesticides ever discovered in Sri Lanka, valued at an estimated 50 Million Rupees. Three individuals were apprehended during the raid.

Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the newly appointed Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), conducted his inaugural official visit to the 55 Infantry Division on 3 January 2025.

The Unit Coaches Course No. 50 was conducted at the Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS) in Diyatalawa from 13th November 2024 to 30th December 2024, under the supervision of Brigadier R.P. Munipura RWP RSP, the Commandant of MSTS. A total of 06 Officers and 28 Other Ranks participated in the course.
Heavy rainfall in the Welikanda area caused the Magulpokuna Tank to overflow, resulting in significant damage to the road connecting Magulpokuna and Kalingawila. In response to this disaster, the 23 Infantry Division, together with troops from the 9th Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA), commenced rapid reconstruction efforts on 02 January 2025.
