Army Moments

Lance Corporal K.K.P.K. Rathnayaka of the 22nd Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, serving under the Directorate of Media and Psychological Operations of the Sri Lanka Army, took steps to return a lost wallet containing Rs. 80,000.00 and several valuable documents to its rightful owner, a Myanmar Buddhist monk, on 07 April 2026 at the Godagama Purana Viharaya. The soldier had discovered the wallet on a bus travelling from Pettah to Avissawella.


The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers held a formal farewell ceremony on 02nd April 2026 at the Regimental Centre in Panagoda to honour its outgoing Colonel Commandant, Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc. He served as the 24th Colonel Commandant from June 2025 to April 2026 and was recognised for his exemplary leadership, vision and dedication to the Corps.
