He was accorded a guard turnout and a guard of honour. He later paid tribute at the fallen war heroes’ monument, attended an all-ranks tea and addressed the troops.

Brigadier N.W.P.S.M. Perera assumed duties as the new Director of the Directorate of Management & Maintenance (M&M) on 13 November 2025 during a simple ceremony held at the Army Headquarters.

A sudden fire broke out at an electrical equipment shop located within a building owned by the Ambalangoda Pradeshiya Sabha was successfully brought under control on 09 November 2025 through the prompt response of 573 Infantry Brigade troops operating under the 61 Infantry Division and Security Forces (West).The fire, which started had spread to 12 nearby shops.
