The Defence Attaché to the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Matthew House, called on the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 22 Infantry Division, Major General H.D.L.S Perera RWP RSP ndc, at the 22 Infantry Division on 26 July 2025.

The troops of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) bade farewell to Major General B.M.R.J Bandara, the retiring Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), on 28 July 2025 at the VIR Regimental Centre, Boyagane.

Colonel Hassan Amir, the Defence Advisor of the Republic of Maldives, visited the Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS) on 23 July 2025 to review the training progress and administrative aspects concerning two Maldivian Defence Force personnel, Sergeant Hussain Fasheen and Sergeant Aisham Ahmad, currently attending the Sniper Course.

Based on information received by the Military Intelligence Corps on 22 July 2025, a raid was conducted in Rajagiriya area by officers of the Excise Department, Battaramulla. During the operation, a suspect residing in Thalawathugoda, Pannipitiya area was taken into custody along with 2 kilograms of Kush, valued at approximately Rs. 12 million.

The annual commemoration ceremony to honour the fallen war heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of Mullaitivu Camp against the LTTE attack in July 1996 was held on 17 July 2025 at the Mullaitivu War Memorial.

The Regimental Centre Special Forces organised a commemorative event on 12 July 2025, honouring the war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. The event was held under the guidance of Major General M.T.I. Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, the Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment, Special Forces.

The 29th commemorative ceremony to honour the fallen war heroes of the Battle of Mullaittivu was held at the War Heroes' Monument of the 1st Regiment Special Forces (SF) on 19 July 2025. During the ceremony, tribute was paid to the supreme sacrifices made on 19 July 1996 by two Officers, including the late Colonel A.F. Lafir PWV RWP RSP, and 36 Other Ranks who laid down their lives for the motherland.
