The Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS) in Diyatalawa bade farewell to Brigadier R.P. Munipura RWP RSP, the outgoing Commandant of MSTS, during a simple occasion on 07 May 2025.
Major General T.N Majeed RSP USP ndc Isc, Director General Research Concept and Doctrine of Army Headquarters, graced the Annual Sports Meet of Zahira College, Gampola as the Chief Guest on 23 April 2025.
As a proud alumnus, he distributed trophies and certificates to winners and highlighted the value of sports in building discipline, teamwork and resilience. Reflecting on his school memories, he encouraged students to uphold these values for future success. The school extended appreciation for his inspirational presence and support.
The Security Forces (East), in collaboration with Wildlife and Civil Organisations, conducted a survey on 2nd January 2025 aimed at mitigating damage caused by wild elephants to paddy fields and safeguarding local communities.
As part of the Clean Sri Lanka programme, the government launched a large-scale beach cleaning initiative covering the coastal stretch from Bentota to Goviapana under the theme “Beautiful Island, Smiling People” on 12th January 2025 in Galle, under the patronage of Honorable Mr. Nalin Hewage, the Deputy Minister of Vocational Education and Galle District Member of Parliament.
The newly constructed house handed over to a needy family in Walikamam South, Uduvil on 11th January 2025, signifying a gesture of support and community collaboration.
The Security Forces Headquarters (West) organised a lecture on "Prevention and Awareness of Infectious Diseases" as part of its training day programme on 8th January 2025 at the 4th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery.
Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE), addressed Officers, Other Ranks, and Civilian Staff at the Regimental Centre, Panagoda, and the Home of Sappers, Mattegoda, on 07th January 2025.

An eye and medical clinic was successfully conducted at Muhaththankulam Government Tamil Medium School, Cheddikulam, on 11th January 2025, under the guidance of Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander, Security Force (Wanni), and directions of the General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division.
Under the guidance of Major S.A.K Gunarathna USP psc, Commanding Officer of the 12th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment (12 GR), a school equipment donation programme was held on 4th January 2025 at Hambantota Kirindagama Primary School.
Troops of the 21 Infantry Division, 7 (V) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, and 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment successfully repaired a partially damaged section of the Diwulwewa Tank bund on 10th January 2025. The damage posed a significant risk to the surrounding community.
