New Adjutant General Assumes Duties

Major General H.H.K.S.S. Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, the newly appointed Adjutant General assumed duties as the 42nd Adjutant General of the Army on 27 January 2026 at the Army Headquarters.
Fallen War Heroes of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF), who made the supreme sacrifice while combating LTTE terrorism in Sri Lanka during 1987–1990, were commemorated at the IPKF Monument in Palaly on 26 January 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day of India.
Major General K.T.P. De Silva RSP ndu psc assumed office as the 34th Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna) on 27 January 2026. As the first event of the day, the newly appointed Commander laid a floral tribute at the Palaly War Heroes’ Monument in remembrance of the fallen heroes.
