Major General K.M.G. Bandaranayake USP ndc psc assumed duties as the 13th Chief Signal Officer (CSO) during a simple ceremony at Army Headquarters on 16 December 2025.
Major General W.B.M.K.G.K. Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWC psc assumed office as the 16th Colonel of the Regiment of the Special Forces (SF) on 15 December 2025 at the Regimental Centre of SF.
Based on information received by the Military Intelligence Unit, two separate raids were conducted on 17 December 2025 in coordination with law enforcement agencies, leading to significant seizures and arrests.
Major General K.A.W.N.H. Bandaranayake USP, the Commander, Security Forces (Central), commended the exemplary service rendered by troops of Divisions, Brigades and Units under Security Forces Headquarters (Central), who were promptly mobilised to carry out disaster relief operations following the Ditwa Cyclone. The commendation was made during an event held at the auditorium of Security Forces Headquarters (Central), on 17 December 2025.
