Brigadier R.P. Munipura (Retd) RWP RSP passed away on 1 January 2026 following an acute medical condition while receiving treatment at the Base Hospital, Kiribathgoda. He was 55 years old at the time of his demise.
The remains of the late senior officer will lie at his residence at No. 264/4/P6, School Lane, Bollegala, Gonawala, Kelaniya for the public to pay their last respects.
His funeral, with full military honours, is scheduled to be held at the Kelaniya, Sepala Crematorium, at 4.00 p.m. on 04 January 2026.
