Army Troops in East Do More Community Projects

Troops of the 221 and 222 Brigades under the 22 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) conducted more ‘Shramadana’ campaigns as community service projects while continuing their post-war period responsibilities towards the nation.

6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops organized two ‘Shramadana’ campaigns to clean the premises at Samudragiri Pichchamal Rajamaha Viharaya, Kuchchaweli on Sunday (7) and Navachcholei preschool, Kuburupiddi Gramaseva Division on Wednesday (10).

Meanwhile, troops of 27 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) conducted two ‘Shramadana’ campaigns to clean the premises at Waddawan Children’s Park, Verugal on Monday (8) and Tamil Mixed Sanpaha College, Echchalanpattu on Wednesday (10).

In the meantime, troops of the 12 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) organized another ‘Shramadana’ project to clean the premises of Kumaran Primary School, Kudumbimalai on Friday (12) as the area was not clean enough.

Similarly, troops of the 233 Brigade under the 23 Division of the SFHQ-E distributed 1000 of cashew nut plants among the people in Vakarai area with the sponsorship of Dilmah (Pvt) Limited on Saturday (13). Officials of the Divisional Secretariat office, Koralepaththu-North, Staff Officers of 23 Division, Commanding Officers of 9 Gemunu Watch (GW) and 3 SLNG participated at the occasion.
