Then Newly constructed building for use of kids at Kattudi Vinayagar Pre-school at Manipay was symbolically handed over to school authorities recently.
11 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops under 513 Brigade having observed the status of the old school building volunteered to construct a new building.
At the request made by troops, Munchee brand of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) provided Rs 400,000 as financial assistance and 11 SLSR troops carried out the construction which benefits 175 children of low-income families who are living in the area.
Further, school accessories, furniture and other requirements were also donated during this event.
Brigadier, D.V.D.P Abeynayaka, General Officer Commanding 51 Division graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Rev. Premasri Soma Sivakumara Kurulkal of Ganapathi Vinayagar Kovil, Rev. Fr Vasanth Ananth of Navaly, Mr S Muralidaran, Divisional secretary Sandilipay, Mr Vijith Perera Senior Marketing Executive, Munchee Biscuits, Mr S. Dayalan and Miss Sasikala, Area Sales Supervisor, teachers, students, parents and villagers participated in the event.
