A joint team of diplomats touring Kilinochchi and suburbs covering the Kokavil transmission tower area late last week met Major General Nandana Udawatta, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ – KLN) and exchanged views on matters, related to development, resettlement and security.
Mr Djafar Hussein, Ambassador, Republic of Indonesia, Mr Ton Sinh Thanh, Ambassador Republic of Vietnam, Mr Azmi Zainuddin, High Commissioner of Malaysia and Miss Rungnapa Srivannavi, Charge d’ Affaires, Royal Thai Embassy were among the diplomats in the team.
Major General Udawatta briefed them on different development roles being carried out with the support of Army troops and other non-governmental agencies.
In the meantime, SFHQ – KLN last week had its routine meeting with the participation of state and private sector representatives, engaged in development and administrative work in the area.
District Secretary for Kilinochchi, Divisional Secretaries for Thunukkai, Kilinochchi, Pooneryn, Thunukkai north-west, Puththukudiyirippu and Oddusudan, representatives from non-governmental agencies like UNDP, ZOA, FORUT, MSF, FAO and JEN, 57 and 65 Division General Officers Commanding, Civil Affairs coordinators of 57, 65 and 66 Divisions and other officials during the meeting, evaluated their roles and received an update on different development projects, now on in Kilinochchi areas.
