Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association Offers One More Ambulance

JAPAN-Sri Lanka Friendship Association, led by Deshabandu Dr. Lal Thilakaratna showed its goodwill towards the Army once again after donating a brand new luxurious ambulance for the use of soldiers.

This Association in the past few years has been actively supportive of the Army and its soldiers. Several more ambulances were donated to the Army by them earlier, too on an initiative taken by Dr. Thilakarathne.

The donation was received by Commander of the Army Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka during a brief ceremony, held at Army Headquarters Tuesday(31) morning.

Among the participants on the occasion were Mr. Ogura Akichika, Japanese representative of the Japan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association, Ven. Hanwelle Dhammaloka Thero and a few senior Army officers.

Dr. Thilakarathne symbolically delivered a replica of the ambulance key to Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka on the occasion after Ven. Hanwelle Dhammaloka Thero delivered a brief talk on the importance of the donation.

The ambulance worth a few millions is equipped with modern and sophisticated medical accessories to meet with any urgent life saving situations.
