  • Restored New Ayurvedic Hospital Vested in Public


    The 574 Brigade troops and 3 Gajaba Regiment troops jointly restored the war-affected former Olumadu Ayurvedic Hospital in the Mullaittivu District and vested it in the civilians during a ceremony on Thursday (9). The old building that existed during the time when LTTE terrorists were controlling the area was used by the terrorists as a hideout.
  • Harvesting of 40 More Acres Begins in Mullaittivu


    A ceremony to cultivate barren paddy fields in Otiyamalai Gramaseva sector of the 642 Brigade area under the 64 Division Headquarters in Mullaittivu, covering 40 acres in extent, was conducted on Thursday (9) on the directions of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa.     With the objective of supporting the civilian community in Gomarankadawala, Kuchchaweli, Lahugala and Somawathiya areas, troops of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) in the past week, carried out many projects. Troops of 233 Brigade organized a meritorious event at Somawathiya Stupa premises to get its blessings on HE the President and tri forces during a religious ceremony.
     
  • Western Troops & Civilians Join 'Sil' Observance Programme


    A Sil observance programme to coincide with the Army Day and the 65th Anniversary, was launched by the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) on Wednesday (8) Full Moon day with the participation of hundreds of youths and troops. Initiated by Major General U.A.B Medawela, Commander, SFHQ-West, the project got underway at the Sri Purwarama Viharaya at Ganegama, Aluthgama.
