'Cadetship is a Stimulus &;amp; an Inspiration to Future Career,' Commander Tells SAARC Cadets

A seventy two-member team of school cadets from SAARC countries, now in Sri Lanka as part of their annual familiarization programme under training, interacted with the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake when the Cadets called at the Army Headquarters on Saturday (11).

The representative school cadets from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal during their stay in Sri Lanka are expected to visit the National Cadet Corps Headquarters at Rantembe and attend the competition for Herman Loos Trophy, organized by Sri Lankan cadets.

During their short interaction with the Commander over tea and refreshments, they exchanged views on matters of interest to their respective cadet corps.

“In Sri Lanka including HE the President, Secretary Defence, all high profile appointment holders as well as myself,  received the inspirational strength for moulding of our future careers from this training and that has fared well. Cadetship is a strong stimulus for everything that would definitely lead to the birth of our regional leaders,” the Commander opined during his exchange of views with the visiting Cadets.

Towards the conclusion of the meeting, they presented symbolic mementos to the Commander as tokens of goodwill and memory. The Commander reciprocated the gesture.
