With the objective of supporting the civilian community in Gomarankadawala, Kuchchaweli, Lahugala and Somawathiya areas, troops of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) in the past week, carried out many projects.
Troops of 233 Brigade organized a meritorious event at Somawathiya Stupa premises to get its blessings on HE the President and tri forces during a religious ceremony. On the same occasion with the financial assistance of Mrs. Dammika Gunarathna, troops distributed 5700 exercise books among children in the area during October 1 - 2.
Meanwhile, 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) troops organized a cricket tournament with members of the general public to enhance the mutual understanding between civilians and troops at Gomarankadawala playground on Saturday (4).
In the meantime, troops of 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) conducted a ‘Sharmadana’ campaign to clean the surroundings of Kiriwehera Temple, Lahugala on Monday (6).
On Tuesday (7) troops of 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) organized a ‘Sharmadana’ campaign to clean the surroundings of Nallur preschool, Kuchchaweli.
