Brigadier I.H.S. Wijesena (Retd) passed away on 30 December 2025. He was 63 years old at the time of his demise.

The 29th Anniversary of the 55 Infantry Division was commemorated on 15 December 2025 at the Division in Kilinochchi.

Major General S.P. Wickramasekera RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties as the Director General Overseas Operations on 29 December 2025 at the Directorate of Overseas Operations, Army Headquarters.

In line with the concept of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army and under the supervision of Brigadier U.R.I.B. Ranatunge RSP USP, Commandant of Abhimansala–1, a Christmas prayer and blessing ceremony was conducted by Bishop Professor Norbert Andradi, Diocese of Anuradhapura for the inmates on 23 December 2025 at the Abhimansala–1 Wellness Resort, Anuradhapura.

Upon the instructions of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, a Christmas celebration programme was successfully conducted on 23 December 2025 at Abimansala 3 Wellness Resort.

The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) continue to ensure the operational readiness of the Army by maintaining and innovating biomedical equipment across the service.

Brigadier R.G.L.K. Weerakoon RWP RSP assumed duties as the Director of the Directorate of Veterans’ Affairs and Rehabilitation on 17 December 2025, during a simple ceremony held at the Army Headquarters.

Major General P.S. Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc assumed duties as the 16th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps on 18 December 2025 at the SLAMC Regimental Centre.

Major General K.M.G. Bandaranayake USP ndc psc assumed duties as the 13th Chief Signal Officer (CSO) during a simple ceremony at Army Headquarters on 16 December 2025.

Major General W.B.M.K.G.K. Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWC psc assumed office as the 16th Colonel of the Regiment of the Special Forces (SF) on 15 December 2025 at the Regimental Centre of SF.
