The 11 Infantry Division commemorated its 16th Anniversary on 15 February 2026 with religious observances and military formalities, under the guidance of Major General M.J.R.S. Medagoda RSP USP ndc psc IG, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11 Infantry Division.
The celebrations commenced with religious observances, invoking blessings upon all personnel of the division. In accordance with military traditions, a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour were accorded to the GOC, followed by the planting of a sapling to mark the occasion.
Subsequently, the GOC addressed the troops and attended the All-Ranks lunch. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
