Major General K.T.P. De Silva RSP ndu psc, the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), paid a courtesy visit to Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jaffna, at the Bishop’s House on 12 February 2026.
During the cordial discussion, the Bishop commended the Sri Lanka Army for its significant post-war contributions in the Northern Province and expressed appreciation for its continued role in maintaining peace and stability in the region. He also sought the Army’s support for future essential requirements of the community.
The Bishop further reflected on the efforts of previous Senior Military Officers in enhancing security and normalcy in Jaffna, while sharing his experiences during challenging periods in the area.
Commander, 512 Infantry Brigade and the Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs of Headquarters, Security Forces (Jaffna) also participated in the occasion.
