Based on information received by the Military Intelligence Corps, a joint operation was conducted in collaboration with Special Task Force officers, Gonahena on 25 February 2026. During the operation, a suspect was arrested at Children's Park, Balapokuna Road, Kirulapone, in possession of 5 kilograms of hashish along with a scooter.
The estimated value of the seized drugs is approximately 300 lakhs. Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau.
