Troops of the 8th Battalion, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (8 SLSR), under instructions from the 572 Infantry Brigade, successfully contained a wildfire that broke out in Nilwakka, Puwakdeniya, Kegalle on 12 March 2026.
In coordination with residents in the area, the troops conducted firefighting operations preventing the blaze from spreading to surrounding areas.
