The Security Force Headquarters (Central) marked its 13th Anniversary on 14 March 2026 with a series of commemorative programmes.
The Anniversary programme commenced with religious observances and an almsgiving offered to the Buddhist monks of Kadurugoda Rajamaha Viharaya. In line with the anniversary celebrations, a donation programme was also conducted at the Cancer Ward of Badulla General Hospital.
Major General K. A. W. N. H. Bandaranayake, the Commander, Security Forces (Central), was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of the Security Force Headquarters (Central). Addressing the troops, the Commander commended the dedication and valuable contributions of all Officers, Other Ranks and civilian staff.
Marking the occasion, a tree planting ceremony was conducted, followed by a group photograph. In addition, friendly volleyball and cricket tournaments were held among the troops of the Security Force Headquarters (Central).
The 13th anniversary celebrations concluded with a lunch reception attended by All Ranks.
