11 Sri Lanka Artillery troops serving 681 Brigade of 68 Division in the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) with the express intention of promoting sports among Vellamullivaikkal students, prepared a new playground with the help of Army machinery and their own labour. The Cycling Race, conducted under ten phases to mark HE the President’s Birthday and his assumption of office during Nov 18 - 29 swept Army cyclists to the fore after winning the overall championship, first place and the second place.
