End to Terrorism in SL Commendable- Vietnam
DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER and Foreign Minister of Vietnam, Pham Gia Khiem, remarked “ Sri Lanka’s achievement in bringing an end to terrorism was commendable, and it was time that the country took forward the reconciliation process with confidence and resolve” when Foreign Minister Bogollagama met him at Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. MULLAITTIVU: ONE more submersible used by the LTTE was found from the seas about 500 m off the VELLAMULLIVAIKKAL beach in MULLAITTIVU on Saturday (18) evening. Based on information provided by an informant to intelligence officials of the 56 Division in VAVUNIYA with coordination of the Task Force-8 based in PUTHUKIUDIYIRUPPU area, the submersible was found and brought ashore with the help of Army divers.

BATTICALOA : FOLLOWING information provided by an informant, a combined search and clear operation was conducted by the VAVUNIYA Police and Army troops of the 232 Brigade in the general area of THARAVIKULAM in THOPPIGALA on Sunday (19). During the search, Army troops and Police recovered three dismantled paddle guns (ZPU-4) buried in the jungle area. The parts of the three weapons including drums with links had been greased and wrapped in polythene when they were unearthed.
