WANNI: FURTHER investigations conducted into the LTTE submersible recovered on Saturday (18) revealed more technical information of the under water equipment by Sunday (19) afternoon.
This 25 m long, 4 feet wide and 3 feet high LTTE submersible has been equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS) fixed onboard and powered by a four cylinder diesel engine fitted in it.
A silencer, a driving seat and an underwater balancing tank fitted underneath were also recovered by troops during their search.
The submersible has also been designed to carry three men easily in its compartment. (See Situation Report on Saturday, 18).
