    Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva Thursday (17) paid a courtesy call on His Eminence Cardinal Dr Malcolm Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo at the Archbishop's House in order to receive his blessings on the new appointment.     Officers and other rankers of Moneragala-based 121 Brigade of the 12 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C), swiftly responded to an SOS telephone call on Thursday (19) evening and recovered the remains of a youth who had drowned in Kumbukkanoya. The telephone message at about 6.00 p.m. alerted the troops who are close to the Kumbukkanoya........

    Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), opening up new vistas of cultural integration for harmony and reconciliation, launched the Army’s first-ever combined Tamil-Sinhala Cultural Troupe, ‘SathRanga’, comprised of newly-enlisted Tamil other rankers, including woman soldiers and Sinhalaese during a ceremony on Thursday (19) at Kilinochchi ‘Nelum Piyasa’ auditorium.
  • Army Daily Mail Dispatch To Go Digital


    Sri Lanka Army, making drastic changes to its traditional Daily Mail Dispatch Service, is to go digital, beginning from April 1, 2015, in all island-wide Army formations where Army data network facilities are available, following instructions given by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva to the Chief Signal Officer of the Army and the Directorate of Information Technology.

  • Two-Month Long English Course for Junior Officers Ended


    English language course conducted for 16 officers at the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) came to an end on Friday (20) with award of certificates to the participants during a ceremony at the SFHQ-KLN auditorium. The Course inaugurated on 12 January, following directions given by Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN.
