Pakistan's NDU Delegation at Army Headquarters Learns More about Army Contribution to Post-Conflict Sri Lanka
A 21-member delegation of Pakistan’s National Defence University (NDU), currently in Sri Lanka on a week-long familiarization tour, arrived at the Army Headquarters Tuesday (22) afternoon. A representative group of members of the delegation, headed by Major General Noel Israel Khokhar, called on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake at the Commander’s office after all the delegates were welcomed on arrival at the Army Headquarters premises.

Distribution of gift parcels among resident patients and inmates at Mullaittivu Army Base Hospital and Mullaittivu District Hospital on account of Sinhala and Tamil New Year took place on Wednesday (16). Major General Jagath Dias, Commander Security Force Headquarters, Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) visited both those hospitals, together with several senior officers and gave away symbolic gift parcels, dispatched by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake. 
Sri Lanka Army Hockey players Tuesday (22) evening beat their Navy counterparts during the finals in the knockout Hockey Tournament, held at Reid Avenue Astro Hockey Turf and carried away the President’s Cup. The Army scored 3 against 0. Tuesday’s finals came about after a tournament that was conducted nearly for three weeks under arrangements, made by Sri Lanka Army Hockey Committee, chaired by Major General V.U.B Nanayakkara.
With the objective of promoting self confidence and co-existence among officers and other ranks serving Units, Brigades and Divisions under the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), an Elle playing tournament was organized with the participation of 42 teams, selected from Army personnel serving under the SFHQ - MLT.

The first introductory exhibition of culinary skills of Army personnel ‘Hela Viru Rasa Udanaya - 2014’, ended at Nuwara Eliya on Tuesday (22) evening with a record number of visitors to the event.
