The final certificate awarding ceremony for 30 participants, including members of the Tri-Services, Sri Lanka Police and Civil Security Department, who successfully qualified for the internationally recognized National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 after completing various technical courses, took place on the 02nd of April at the Ranaviru Resource Centre, Wattala.


The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General K.P.A Jayasekara (Retd) WWV RSP VSV USP ndc psc, together with Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, paid their final respects to the late Major General P.I Pathirathne (Retd) of the Gemunu Watch, at a solemn ceremony held at the Borella General Cemetery on Monday afternoon, 31 March 2025.


The Directorate of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, under the guidance of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, organised the Stage III medical camp at the Abhimansala 3 Wellness Centre, Pangolla, on 28 March 2025. This initiative aimed to address the healthcare needs of disabled veterans in the Kurunegala area.


On 26 March, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG Commander of the Army, participated in a special Iftar ceremony at the Grand Maitland in Colombo 07. The ceremony marked the traditional observance of Iftar during the holy month of Ramadan, reinforcing cultural solidarity within the Sri Lanka Army.
