In a move to enhance leadership competence and decision-making abilities among military personnel, an awareness lecture on the ‘Human Factor’ was held at the Army Headquarters on 01 August 2025. The session was conducted under the directives of the Commander of the Army and under the close supervision of Major General W.M.N.K.D Bandara RWP RSP USP psc, the Director General Training.


The Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) ceremoniously held its Diploma Awarding Ceremony – 2025 on 05 August 2025 at the Sino–Lanka Auditorium, Diyatalawa. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.


Major General K.W. Jayaweera USP psc of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, who was recently promoted to the rank of Major General, received the symbol of authority and greetings from Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, during a formal courtesy call held on 04 August 2025 at the Army Headquarters.


Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, Commander, 1 Corps and Colonel Commandant of the Military Intelligence Corps, was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 01 August 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after completing a distinguished military career spanning over 35 years.


The Sri Lanka Army organised several medical camps across the island from 20th January 2025 for disabled and retired Army personnel. In keeping with the vision articulated in the Clean Sri Lanka programme, introduced under the guidance of His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, this initiative aims to promote inclusive healthcare and safeguard the wellbeing of disabled veterans as part of a dignified and healthy society.


Major General S.A Hettige RSP psc, Director General of Directorate of Overseas Operations was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 30 July 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after completing a distinguished military career spanning over 33 years.
