Army Chief Attends Religious Observances on Duruthu Poya Day

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, attended a religious programme organised by the Sri Lanka Army Buddhist Association on 03 January 2026 at the Sri Bodhirajaramaya Temple, Panagoda, in line with Duruthu Poya Day.

The programme was conducted to invoke blessings on the Armed Forces and to pay tribute to the fallen War Heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.

During the event, the Army Chief participated in almsgiving and joined the dhamma sermon conducted by the Maha Sangha.

Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General U.K.D.D.P. Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West), along with Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and a large gathering of devotees from the area, were also present at the religious observances.
