The 80th General Assembly and Congress of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) took place from 17 to 25 May 2025 at the Grand Maitland Hotel, Colombo. A significant highlight of the event was the conferment of honorary medals and the prestigious title of “Knight” to nine distinguished military personnel for their contributions to military sports and international cooperation.
Warrant Officer II Kalinga Kumarage made history by securing the Bronze Medal in the Men’s 400m event at the Asian Athletics Championship, held on 28 May 2025, with a time of 45.55 seconds, marking a significant achievement for Sri Lanka.
The Directorate of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation organised a medical camp for disabled and serving military personnel on 27 May 2025 at Abimansala 1 Wellness Resort, Anuradhapura. The initiative aimed to address the healthcare needs of Army veterans residing in the North Central Province.
Major General T.C Peiris RSP USP was invited to the Office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 26 May 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after completing a distinguished career spanning 34 years.

The 75th Anniversary History Book - Third Volume of the 1st Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) was ceremonially launched on 21 May 2025 at the Regimental Centre of SLLI.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, participated as a distinguished guest at the Land Forces Pacific (LANPAC) Symposium & Exposition 2025, held from 13 – 15 May 2025 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The event, organised annually by the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), serves as a key international platform highlighting the role of land forces in the Indo-Pacific region and their contributions to the Joint Force in times of peace and conflict.
