The Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) conducted a Fallen War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony on 05 November 2025 at the SLLI Regimental Centre, amidst military traditions, paying tribute to the gallant soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the 144th Anniversary celebrations of the Regiment.


Major General T.H.D.S.R Thirimanne USP, Major General N.A.M.P Nagahawatta RSP, Major General T.N.K Perera, Major General K.V.I.L Jayaweera USP, Major General S.J Kariyakarawana RWP RSP USP, Major General P.N Wickramasinghe, and Major General M.P.K.L Amarasinghe WWV RWP RSP ndc, who were recently promoted to the rank of Major General, received the symbols of authority and best wishes from Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, during a formal courtesy call held on 31 October 2025 at the Army Headquarters.


Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, commended Sri Lanka Army athletes for their exceptional performances at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship 2025 held in Ranchi, India. The event brought immense pride to the nation and the Sri Lanka Army, as the athletes secured an impressive tally of 12 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.


The inaugural Russian–Sri Lankan bilateral military exercise “Wolverine Path 2025” is scheduled to take place from 25 October to 04 November 2025 at the Army Training School (ATS), Maduruoya. This tactical counter-terrorist exercise marks the first-ever joint field training collaboration between the Sri Lanka Army and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.


Major General K.A.D.S.K Dharmasena RWP was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 24 October 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after a distinguished military career spanning over 35 years. The senior officer sustained visual impairment during military operations in the year 2000, has continued to serve with dedication and resilience, setting an inspiring example of commitment and courage to all ranks of the Army.
