A two-day leadership development workshop was successfully conducted at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) on 06 and 07 March 2026 at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium. The programme was organised under the direction of the Commander of the Army, with the aim of enhancing leadership standards, professional responsibility and mentoring capabilities of Officers, Officer Cadets and Other Ranks at SLMA.
The 11th contingent of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), serving at the SRIMED Level 2 UN Hospital in Bor, South Sudan, comprising 10 Officers and 41 Other Ranks, arrived in Sri Lanka on 11 March 2026 following the successful completion of their one-year mission. Meanwhile, the remaining 05 Officers and 04 Other Ranks remained in South Sudan as the rear party and are expected to arrive in due course.
