Major General H.C.L Galappathti RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of 24 Infantry Division, was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 21 August 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after completing a distinguished military career spanning over 34 years.


Mrs. Dewi Gustina Tobing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, on 20 August 2025 at the Army Headquarters.


Lance Corporal A. Puvitharan of the 2nd Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) set a new national record in the Pole Vault event held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Playground, Diyagama, on 19 August 2025. He cleared a height of 5.18 metres during the selections for the Army Athletics Championship 2025.


Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, the Chief of Staff, paid his first official visit to the Directorate of Army Bands & Performing Arts on 18 August 2025. Upon arrival, he was warmly received by Major General T.T.P Siriwardene RSP ndc psc lsc, the Director General of Army Bands & Performing Arts.


Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army, conducted an official visit to the Laya Waves Army Holiday Resort, Kalkudah, on 18 August 2025. During the visit, the General Manager delivered a detailed briefing on issues pertaining to the hotel and accompanied the visiting Senior Officer to inspect the premises, including the main restaurant, kitchen, and Other Ranks’ living area.


Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), undertook an official field visit to the 1 Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps (1 SLAPC) at Palawaththa on 18 August 2025.


Under the guidance of the Commander of the Army, a large-scale renovation is currently underway at the Sri Lanka Parliamentary Complex, conducted by the troops of the 1st Field Regiment of the Sri Lanka Engineers and the 6 (V) Engineer Services Regiment, under the supervision of the Chief Field Engineer’s Office and the Directorate of Engineer Services.
