A two-day leadership development workshop was successfully conducted at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) on 06 and 07 March 2026 at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium. The programme was organised under the direction of the Commander of the Army, with the aim of enhancing leadership standards, professional responsibility and mentoring capabilities in SLMA.
The 11th contingent of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), serving at the SRIMED Level 2 UN Hospital in Bor, South Sudan, comprising 10 Officers and 41 Other Ranks, arrived in Sri Lanka on 11 March 2026 following the successful completion of their one-year mission. Meanwhile, the remaining 05 Officers and 04 Other Ranks remained in South Sudan as the rear party and are expected to arrive in due course.

The Inter Regiment Athletics Meet – 2026 of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was held on 08 March 2026 at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Diyagama and the closing ceremony was graced by Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, Chief of Staff of the Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, as the Chief Guest.
Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), undertook an official visit to the 12th (Volunteer) Engineer Services Regiment at Kaburupitiya and the 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion, the Gemunu Watch, in Matara on 06 March 2026.

The annual Army Road Race, organised for the 59th consecutive year, commenced on Sunday morning (08 March 2026) at the entrance of Army Headquarters with the gracious participation of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army.
The Sri Lanka Army conducted a felicitation ceremony at Army Headquarters on 6 March 2026 to honour the composers of the Army Song, which was released on 10 October 1999 to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Major General K.N.D. Karunapala RSP ndu, was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 04 March 2026, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after a distinguished military career spanning over 36 years.
