Under the direction of Commander of the Army a fleet of Army vehicles has been fully restored to motorable condition by the skilled technicians of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME). The repair work carried out at the SLEME Base Workshops, under the supervision of the Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, have saved the Army a substantial sum of money that would otherwise have been spent on new vehicle acquisitions.


Major General W.A.S.R Wijedasa WWV RSP USP ndc psc, Director General of Directorate of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, Army Headquarters, was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 23 October 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after a distinguished military career spanning over 35 years.


Major General D.C. Mahathanthila psc, Commander, Logistics Command, Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), was invited to the office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, on 23 October 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after a distinguished military career spanning over 34 years.


A delegation from the Australian Defence College, headed by Colonel Brandon Ashley Wood, together with Colonel Amanda Johnston (Defence Advisor of the Australian High Commission), paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, at the Army Headquarters on 22 October 2025.


Under the direction of the Commander of the Army, the Directorate of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, in collaboration with the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), conducted a medical camp for disabled retired personnel as part of a series of ongoing medical programmes on 21 October 2025 at the Headquarters of the 58 Infantry Division, Puttalam. The initiative aimed to address the healthcare needs of Army veterans residing in Puttalam District.
