A newly constructed house was vested in a deserving resident of Kaluagagala, Hanwella, on 11 June 2025. The construction was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Mr S.A. Ishan Perera, while troops of the 1st Reconnonaisance Regiment of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps provided workforce assistance for the project.
The land for the house was donated by His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo, through the coordination of Major General (Retd) Anil Peiris. This house marks the 50th house which completed under the ongoing housing project initiated by Major General (Retd) Anil Peiris, who launched the programme to connect philanthropists with individuals in need of housing.
Major General M.S. Devapriya USP ndc, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Senior Officers, residents in the area participated in the event.
